Perched on Sri Panwa’s clifftop at the tip of Cape Panwa, Baba Nest looks out over the meeting point of Chalong Bay and the Andaman Sea from high enough up that the infinity pool below seems to dissolve straight into the horizon. It’s become the single most Instagrammed rooftop bar in Phuket for good reason — the view genuinely delivers — but it’s also one of the most expensive hours you can spend on the island, and going in with clear expectations about the cost matters as much as the sunset itself.

The View and the Setup
Baba Nest sits atop the Sri Panwa resort, open daily but weather-dependent — the bar closes automatically in rain, since the seating is largely exposed to the elements by design. Reservations are essential, ideally two or more weeks ahead for a sunset slot, since the bar’s small footprint and outsized reputation mean tables book out well in advance, especially in high season.
Cost

Non-hotel guests face a minimum spend of roughly 3,000 baht per person; Sri Panwa guests pay a reduced 1,500 baht. Individual items run accordingly — Mexican-leaning tapas around 400 baht a plate, a glass of wine around 480 baht, and Champagne by the glass around 990 baht. This is resort-rooftop pricing at the top of Phuket’s scale, and the minimum spend applies whether or not you drink that much.

Honest Caveats
Baba Nest’s reputation means it trades partly on hype — the view is real, but so is the sense that you’re paying a premium for the photo as much as the drink in your hand, and the minimum spend can feel steep for a short visit. The venue is also genuinely weather-vulnerable: a rainy-season afternoon can mean a canceled reservation with little notice, so build in a backup plan if you’re visiting between roughly May and October. It’s a rooftop bar first and a dining venue second — go for sunset and drinks, not for a full dinner.

Best Time to Go
Book the golden-hour slot — arrive at least 30–45 minutes before sunset to settle in before the crowd peaks, and expect the room to fill quickly in the final 20 minutes before the sun drops. High season (November–April) offers the most reliable clear skies.

Getting There
Sri Panwa sits on Cape Panwa, roughly 20–30 minutes (400–500 baht taxi) from Phuket Town and about 45–60 minutes from Patong or the airport — factor the distance into your evening plans, since it’s a genuine trip out to the cape rather than a casual stop.
